About Laurie Shovers

Laurie graduated in the late 70’s with a degree in graphic design from the University of Wisconsin. She settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, married ,and spent the next few years working her way up the corporate ladder in some of Milwaukee’s premier advertising agencies as an art director.

Wanting more time with her young family, Laurie decided to quit the ad biz and spent the next few years taking various classes to satisfy her creative bent. She started to focus on jewelry making and took numerous classes in metalsmithing.

In and around 1990, she started to hone in on the process that has given birth to the product that you see here today. The clean machined aluminum combined with her tiny beaded detail is graphic, flexible and satisfies her love of colorful detail.

Laurie loves making her jewelry and would like you to share in this pleasure by purchasing one of these works of art for yourself.
